Johnlock, #15

Sherlock sat on a hard uncomfy chair in a café, he grumbled to himself as he scribbled into his notebook. He sighed and looked up, deciding to look around the people and see what he could deduce.

John walked to the nearest cafe, and just as he walked in, he spotted the unmissable curls."Hi, Sherlick, was it?" he asked when he got closer, the same bright smile plastered on his face again."Is this seat taken?" he asked nodding at the seat across of Sherlock's."Because the others are full, I don't wish to interrupt complete strangers."

"John" Sherlock said in greeting, "We are complete strangers" He noticed, "But you can sit."

"We are strangers, but not complete ones. You know my name, I kbow your name, we're on the right track of becoming not-strangers", John smiled as he sat down. A waitress immediately approached him and he ordered a flat white and patiently waited for his order to arrive.

Sherlock looked closely at him, "I also know that you aren't from London. You're from somewhere North, maybe Sheffield or Rotherham. And this is the first flat you have rented completely alone"

John looked at Sherlock for a couple of seconds."How could you possibly know that?" he asked blinking in confusion.

Sherlock leant back in his chair, a slightly smug smile on his face, "Your accent has a hint of Yorkshire but isn't over powering, so you're from a county near there, most probably around South Yorkshire but then again you don't seem as idiotic as they are (*coughs*) so maybe slightly more western than Yorkshire Lancaster maybe" Sherlock said, "You lost your cat so no one is in the flat with you to keep an eye out for it. Also you seemed pretty keen to talk which means you are not used to not having someone to talk to"

John continued staring before he broke into a wide smile."That's remarkable", he said and stopped his staring, his gaze lingering on the wood of the table, the plastic of the menu before settling down to a chair behind Sherlock's shoulder.

Sherlock blinked then smiled lightly, "That's a first, definitely different from what people usually say" He noticed.

"And what do people usually say?" John encouraged him. When the waitress came back with his coffee, John paid on the spot, but didn't drink just yet. He was afraid he might burn himself, which wouldn't be a very pleasant sight, even less pleasant feeling.

(this is just going to have quote after quote isnt it?)

"'Piss off'" Sherlock said and smiled slightly wider, looking towards the window so he didn't catch John's eye.

John laughed quietly."I guess people don't like their darkest secrets to be exposed with a simple segue of thoughts. It's Manchester, by the way", he corrected him a bit.

"Manchester! Too close, I should have got that" Sherlock grumbled.

"Yeah, you should have", John replied with a small, but sincere grin, just a glint of amusement in it. He took the coffee cup and took a test sip, just to check it was safe to drink. Even though he prefered tea, coffee was tolerable at times like this.

Sherlock sat back normally then clapping his hands together placing the tips against his chin. "Why come to London?"

"I went to college here, and since Harry and I couldn't share a student flat any longer, it was getting too small, so I moved out just to another part of town", John answered fiddling with the sugar package but not opening it.

"Brother?" Sherlock asked, looking directly towards John.

That made Jihn laugh."No, not my brother..." he couldn't continue the sentence, he couldn't stop the chuckles. He could only imagine Harry as a man. She'd probably be the same, only less talkative and more insulting. Definitely a bad idea.

Sherlock squinted lightly, "Who is he then? You don't seem to have an extended family because you have moved somewhere far from them all. And judging from your reaction it would be odd for him to be your brother. Boyfriend? But then why would you move out?" Sherlock mumbled to himself, "Cousin?"

"Sister. Harry is just a nickname for Harriet", John said keeping the smile, now successfully holding back laughter."Why does everybody jump to conclusions? My, is she going to have a laugh when she hears. And she kicked me out, it wasn't my choice."

"Oh" Sherlock said, "sister." He made a face then leant back in his chair, still muttering "Sister".

"I've confused the great Sherlock Holmes. Those words will be written on my grave", John teased as he drank the coffee latte.

"Your gravestone will be carved soon if you continue" Sherlock grumbled.

"Is that a death threat, mr. Holmes?" John continued teasing before noticing a bit of stray coffee foam on his nose. He tried to sniff it away but his tries only made him sneeze."Karma is quite mean", he said wiping off the foam with his hand.

Sherlock smiled, "Very" He said, watching him fumble about.
