"No, you don't understand." When all threat was gone, I could relax. "He lives out of town, he drove at least half an hour to get here." I even laughed a bit. "Yes, I'm sure that siblings are so lovely when they have their dark periods. Or just on their period, whatever works."

I chuckled softly, "Ah, I bet they have bad periods. Are you lucky enough to be the youngest?" I asked.

"Oh, no, not a chance. Second oldest. It's like being a middle child and the oldest child at the same time."Why was this conversation based on me? It made no sense to talk with a girl who was pale, lanky and in her fluffy cotton sheep pjs bottoms and a white tank top.

Markus
"Oh, I heard being the middle is kinda the worst" I replied, wrapping one of my legs over the other to transfer the weight. She seemed fond of her siblings, and she was easy to talk to. I liked her. First impressions are always important.

"Oh, as much as I'd like to stay and sit down and have a nice and proper chat, I have to go to sleep soon if I plan on waking up tomorrow at the right time." And you don't want to talk about yourself so the conversation is a little bit one-sided.

"Yes, I need to pick something of mine up. You should come down to my flat on day, have a cuppa and a chat." I hope that will be soon. "Bye, Miss Clark. "

"Funny you say that, everybody calls me that. Automatically assuming I'm single." I resisted my natural urge to wink at him. "Goodbye, mister I forgot your name, I don't remember any names, sorry."

Markus
"Ah, I just always hope for the best" I replied with a army salute. "And I am Markus. Lovely to meet you" I bowed again before walking out of the door.

Okay he was definitely a dancer. I knew a member of my own kind. I bowed at him also, ballet style, but I didn't have a skirt, so I ended up pulling the legs of my trousers lamely. "So long, Markus." I closed the door behind him.

Before I began to walk away, I notuced I had gained an item during my short visit time. I turned around back to the door and tapped on the door with my knuckle.

is it the police?? Oh my God it's the police. They're going to take me to a white, cold, sterile prison and leavevme there with no makeup. "I didn't kill anyone, I swear!"

"That might be hard, considering I have your murder weapon" I held the pan up by the little hole in the handle [why are they there? What use to they provide?].

"Oh gosh, you have my frying pan." I opened the door, fast, but trying to make it look like it wasn't fast. I'm so sorry, I'm nothing but trouble."

Markus
I handed her the pan, smiling at her "We need some trouble around here, waay too boring. Now; adios Miss Clark" I winked and waved, turning away from the door.

When I was closing the door, I made an incompetwnt wheezing noise. He may have heard me, but I didn't care. A wink? From a cute neighbour? Who was hopefully not gay? And a dancer? More wheezing noises. I promised myself the next time I saw him, I would be perfectly dressed, with makeup to die for. Yes. I am a bait, he is the fish. Bite me.

Turns our, I break my promises easily. I was shooed out of my apartment, left to faff about for the next three days they 'decontaminate it'. I grabbed some clean clothes (nothing spectacular, jeans, tshirt, dress, underwear) and I was already out. I went from door to door to find someobe who'd take me in, but nobody had the room. Just as I was considering the option to go to my brother's (in my socks), I found a door with a familiar surname. I knocked.

I glanced up from the highly boring children's show on the tv, glad for the distraction. I literally leapt to my feet and padded over to the door. Emily followed behind, when I opened the door, her arms around my leg. I always found that amusing, she could easily perform infront of hundreds of people, but when it comes to talking to strangers she's a complete scared-y cat. Even in her complete pink clothing.
"Oh, Miss Clark, how nice to see you"

"Mr. Markus, you would never believe me. I mean it. Frankly, I don't believe myself. I was kicked out of my flat. Pest control, they said. Screw you, I said. Long story ahort, I'm homeless for the next couple of days, and my family lives too far to be considered as my substitute home." We meet again, I'm a mess again. It's like the universe dislikes me. I noticed a small girl by his feet, and my stomach dropped. Yes. Universe definitely dislikes me. "Oh, you must be thinking I'm terribly rude, don't you?" I spoke to the girl. "I'm Clark, what's your name?"

"You can stay here, if you wished. Have my room, I'll bunk out on the sofa" I offered, taking a step away from the door, Emmie following. "This little pink monster is Emily. Emmie, say hello to Miss Clark" The reply was something that could be classed as a greeting if you listened close enough. I do hope Clark doesn't get the wrong idea from me having a daughter, that is if she was interested at all.

"That would be outstanding, I really appreciate it." I reshuffled the clothes in my hands. "And sofa is fine, thanks." I lightly hit his shoulder. "You don't call ladies monsters, didn't your mother teach you that? Especially not little princesses like your Emily." I winked at the girl.

Emily smiled up at Clark, I was already beginning to believe that introducing the two might be a bad idea on my end. "My mother told me I was perfect in every way" I pouted, letting Emily lead the way in and closed the door.

"Every mother thinks her child is perfect, don't feel all that flattered", I grinned. I enjoyed the casual tone of the conversation, usually people are all weird and closed, and I end up the only one talking. "Say, Emily, how old are you now?" Talking with a child. Once you get 'em to open up, they won't ever shut up. That was my goal. If I didn't have a chance with Markus, I had a chance with Emily. No, not in that way, paedophiles!

"Sad now," I continued pouting for a little longerbefore flopping back onto the sofa. Emily glanced at me for a second before saying, "Six. I am six" As most parents do, I believed Emily to be a very intelligent child, the most perfect child. But by some standards she was intelligent, a lot more than I was as a kid.

"Wow. You're a really big girl, now that you need two hands to count your years on your fingers. I'm more than four times older than you, what about that. And let me tell you. Four times less smart. Adults are stupid. Like your dad, who thinjs he's flawless." I hope he got the joke, and I also hope that dad was a proper term. I decided that my best option was sitting down, so I sat down.
