Zalika shook her head, "No, not yet" She said, "I have my evaluation soon"

"Are you looking forward to it?" Sam asked, already feeling the sideeffects on his leg. He'd have to sit soon.

Zalika shook her head again, "Not at all. I don't like talking to people" She noticed, looking at the ground.

"Well, you're talking to me", Sam said and noticed a bench nearby."Say, do you mind if we sat down and rested a bit?"

Zalika nodded, "Sure" She said, sitting down, resting her bike against the edge of the bench. "I don't know why I'm talking." She realised.

"It's the effect I have on people", Sam let a smirk slip by as he sat down."Don't worry, you'll still make it in time."

Zalika smiled, she wasn't one for laughing, she hated her laugh, so she just smiled widely at people instead. "How old are you?" She asked.

"Twenty. That's what they say, at least. I've lost count", Sam shrugged lightly stretching his leg out a bit.

Zalika smiled again, "Isn't twenty a bit early to be giving up on counting?"

"Isn't seventeen too young to be sent to a lifeless existence?"Sam asked looking at her. Damned contacts, they annoyed him so bad.

Zalika blinked at him, "I-I guess so" She said, slightly confused by his words.

"I'm sorry, that-- was too much, apologies. Let's get moving", Sam got up and started walking again.

Zalika nodded and stood up, pickibg up her bike again. "So did you get cured at eighteen?"

No."Yes, I did. Everyobe does, don't they?"Sam asked.

Zalika nodded, "Most do" She agreed, "Did the whole procedure hurt?"

"Yes, it did." Sam didn't want to scare the poor girl, but she neded to know what kind of a life awaits for her.

"Oh" Zalika said again, "Well, no point fretting about it. There's no way of avoiding it anyway"

"There is a way, but it's quite dangerous", Sam said. Why not? She seemed harmless enough.

Zalika looked over at him, "Which is?" She asked, she had never heard of a way out of it. But she didn't know of she did want to avoid it or not, but she was curious for his answer.

"I might just show you", Sam said."But not today, not here."

Zalika blinked slightly confused, "Oh okay"She said, still looking at him carefully.

"If you wish, we can meet here tomorrow, whatever time works for you", Sam said coming to a stop when they reached the big rock.

"No school tomorrow, so I'm free all day" Zalika noticed, with a small shrug.

"Morning, then?" Sam asked leaning against the rock.

Zalika nodded, "Okay then" She said, with a small smile.
