I stare around the building I just walked into. I pull my jumper tighter around my arms as the cool air conditioning hits me. Who has it that cold? They must be penguins I think.

Benedict walked from his room to the main room of the HQ, the room where they'd get missions and get assigned to apprentices. Yes, it was that time of the year. He sighed and circled his shoulder a bit as he found a place to sit, pulling his t-shirt in boredom. People were wearing jackets here, for goodness sake! What was wrong with them? He sighed once more and focused his eyes at the stage where the Main ones will be and give out duties.

I gazed around the room, humming to myself slightly. I sit down on a chair and leaned back on it slightly, still humming.

"Okay, everybody,"a man with a deep voice and an army cut said. He was one of the many people on the stage, but he was the only one standing."You know which day is it! Tell them, Ben!"He said pointing at Benedict."The-"Benedict started rolling his eyes but the man finished instead of him."The mentor picking day!! Needless to say, a very exciting day indeed."The man said as Benedict sighed. Howard would get so exciting, no apparent reason for it. He looked at the girls and boys sitting on the chairs. Poor kids; he thought.

Flinching at the sudden loud voice I glance up the stage. I scan the people sat behind the man, they all seemed slightly scary in some way. I continue to lean back in my chair, being thankful for being on the back row, people would want to eat me if I wasn't.

"Okay, let's get this started! Kaitlyn Rosamarie. You go to Taylor, there."Howard pointed at the back seat ant the girl hopped to the scary looking guy in a grey shirt. Almost everyone had a grey shirt or a t-shirt at least. It was the ranging system here. Grey for usual. Blue for top. There were only a dozen blue clothing pieces in the room, most of them were shirts. Benedict wore a blue baseball cap.

I watched as Kaitlyn walked up to Taylor. Taylor suited this man. Poor Kaitlyn, she looked really scared. I began scanning the people at the back, hoping I would get a kind one.

After a few apprentices it was Amelia's turn."Amelia-May,"Howard said."Benedict,"he continued smirking pointing at the baseball cap Benedict was hiding from. The cap raised and piercing blue eyes looked at Amelia.

I glanced up at the sound of my name, I saw everyone was staring at me Ah great. "Benedict" Instantly my eyes scanned the hall, I saw Howard pointing at a boy wearing a blue cap, which really brought out his blue eyes.

"Okay,"Benedict said getting up. The whole room stared at him in awe, but he just ignored it."Can we go now?"He asked Howard, his voice quiet but the man heard him."Yes, of course, but you need to ask politely."Howard smirked at him. Benedict sighed."Goodbye Howard."He said and turned around on his heel expecting the girl to follow him.

Reluctantly, I got to my feet and walked after him. I ignored everyone around me and kept my head low as I followed him.

Benedict got to his room and opened the door, closing it after Amelia after she got in. "I have a thing to say to you. Don't think that you're special,"he said putting the baseball cap on the hanger."You're not. If you die, there won't be a funeral. Because you're nothing more but a figure in a game. You die and you're replaced. Clear?"

"Nice to know people care" I mutter, watching him hang up his hat. "What game is it? If it's fifa I would be terrible but COD I'd be okay" I joked.

Benedict looked at her with a non-impressed look."I don't do jokes."He said shortly.

"Why did I have to end up with Mr. Miseryguts?" I mutter.

"You showed up at the HQ. Why did you even do that?"Benedict frowned and shook his head.

"'Cause my father told me too" I say and glance around the room.

"At least you have a father. You're a lucky piece of shit, you know that?"Benedict said.
